I have called this the "BaoNode" AllStar HT.

I've basically gutted a Baofeng $15 UHF HT to build a fully self contained AllStar radioless handheld transceiver.

Trying to use the 3.7v battery won't work. Using a parallel pair of mini step up converters don't supply enough current for the Pi. Tested a 7.4v battery with a buck converter (far left of photo) and all powers up ok. Trouble is that buck won't fit in the case.

Have ordered a pair of smaller bucks. Also a pair of 3.7v batteries that will fit in the original battery enclosure, to step it up to 7.4v.
