At the September business meeting (last Saturday) I demonstrated the trial Remote Radio System (RRS). This Saturday (14 Sep) at 10:00 we will hold an Induction Briefing at the club for members who would like to try using the RRS. The brief will take around 40 minutes and we will walk through how to:
book a session
login to the RRS
operate the SmartSDR software to control the Flex 6400M and get on the air!
What to Bring:
Feel free to bring your laptop or tablet along and we will confirm everything is setup properly. You can download (before you come) the SmartSDR software from here.

Hi Ian, just had my first session on FAMPARC RRS and everything worked perfectly thank you. The Primer document and your message with passwords all helped make it a very easy introduction.😁
Hi Ian. Sorry can't make Saturday as I will be up in Toolangi State Forest doing an advanced recovery (basically winching) with Land Rover club. I would like to register for an account if I haven't done so already. Question: As a Foundation License holder, and a newbie, I'm limited to 10 watts. Is this adjustable on the Flex radio, and if not, am I putting myself and the club in a risky position?
Excellent excellent idea.
It’s not for me but I certainly would encourage anyone interested to attend/have a go. I know there are people in the club who were involved in the last remote setup. I spoke to those people.
Good to see some activity. Thank you and I have indicated as per BLOG about contact. It will be good for the club I think and there maybe an initial high demand which will probably drop off but this has done a couple of things.
New possibilities for Amateur Radio;
Update the internet capabilities at the club rooms; and
Have an additional talking point for members.
