SPECIAL FEATURE FOR THE BAREC BENDIGO RADIOFEST
BAREC President Neil Patton VK3ZVX will present the story of Operation Breakout and explain how Amateur Radio can move beyond assisting in the traditional emergency response role, towards becoming a practical community resilience resource.
Learn how BAREC broke down barriers with communities, local government and emergency services, creating a new model for relevance, community leadership and recruitment.
BAREC is one of Australia’s most active Amateur Radio and Electronics clubs, boasting an impressive list of successful community and Amateur Radio projects to their credit, including the recent purchase and transformation of the Gredgwin Relay Tower in NW Victoria, and their ground breaking “Operation Breakout”, across a vast swathe of Central Victoria.
Neil heads up BAREC’s team of enthusiastic and motivated members, and his popular presentations have been headlining features at Amateur Radio events across South Eastern Australia. Be sure not to miss this one, at the BAREC Bendigo RadioFest, Sunday October 11th at BAREC’s HQ, 35 Lansell St., East Bendigo. See BAREC's web page www.barec.net.au and under the “Events” tab on Facebook’s Hamfests Australasia Group page.
