At the last club meeting I mentioned the potential of the open-source AEtherSDR as a

free option to connect to the Online Shack for club members who only use Apple products or Linux. After a bit of investigation I now have the spectrum and waterfall working with our club system.

AEtherSDR is open-source and built on the Qt framework. The source code is available on GitHub but there are binary installer files available for Mac, Linux and Windows.

If you would like to try it, you will still need to register for credentials to our club Online Shack. To obtain them, just send me an email at vk3frc.remote@gmail.com.

Great work Ian.. I do hope that this software has been developed for the M series of Apple Chips, because as of MacOS28, no Intel-based software will run on a Mac.

As you will not be able to run Rosetta to load old software.. which is a real bummer.

Cheers..

Craig.
