For newb's

With our club gaining some new members of late, and that most of them will be entering in to the new and exciting world of Amateur Radio for the first time, it can be very daunting in trying to select a new radio..

I am keen to get our members ideas and thoughts on what would be a good transceiver for our newb's.

I have tried to pick Mobile or Semi Portable Transceiver with at least Dual Band, and also Base Station / Mobile HF.

Prices vary between these radios..

Simply click on your selection, and it will be counted.

I would forgo the handheld radios as even though they maybe the most economical entry point, you miss out on so much fun on other bands. Though I do own one for D-Star.

An FT-991A will return fun for investment on HF SSB, VHF SSB/FM and UHF SSB? and FM. The spectru…
