I have been experimenting with wireless options on IC-705, and last piece of the puzzle, was to use my iPhone SE to run my IC-705 remotely.
Why? I often drive multiple vehicles and can't afford to have a radio in each, or on short trips, don't feel like hooking up IC-705. In all instances I have my iPhone with me, and so hunted around the web for a solution-found an App called SDR-Mobile.
I would suggest that it is worthwhile looking at this free App, as it offers a wide range of applications of your radio.
The documentation that comes with it is superb, and you can even access the manual from within the App. You can also make a printed copy.
Setup is very easy and logical, and uses terms that are the same as Icom material.
The App works with the following Icom Radios:
IC-705
IC-9700
IC-7610
IC-R8600
I can only comment on my positive experience of this App on my IC-705.
As the software runs through an iPhone, you can use (requires iOS 16 or higher), iPods and other headsets you use with your iPhone. Next test is handsfree
This App is designed for iPhones, read small screen, and there is another App for iPads, read larger screen for Waterfall display.

Brilliant! Thanks

I have been able to use the App perfectly when I'm at home (within WiFi), but had problems accessing outside my WiFi area.
Thanks to a conversation with Ian (VK3KO),and conversation with TPG I discovered that tehy use a dynamic IP addresses for security purposes. What I need is a static IP address, so that the App, can "dial" in to a constant address.
I spent 15 minutes on the phone with TPG, and for an extra $20 a month I have become a business customer and will be issued with a static IP address. This has had to be one of the easiest problem solutions linked to technology that I have ever experienced. I hope to be able to report within 24-36 hours if the static IP address works. TPG also threw in a new Wireless modem for free, and all I do is pay $10 delivery fee-jumped at their offer as soon as I heard it.
Big thanks to Ian for his counsel, especially at a time when he was working on his own projectš.
