Here is an interesting YouTube video on a swap out board to upgrade to USB-C side connector.

Board can be purchased at:

If anyone else is interested maybe we could go for a multiple order, so freight cost is spread around group?
Another great find Phillip
One comment from the forum I spotted is worth checking:
“Contrary to the how-to article and this video, the screws are NOT Philips. They are JIS, as evidenced by the dot. If you really want to minimize the risk of stripping, use a JIS driver. They are not the same. A Philips, regardless of the size, is not the correct tool.”
***WARNING***
Before you take on this upgrade, give some thought to the issue of warranty. If you have a newish radio, and its still under warranty, it might not be a good idea to make this upgrade. Most companies will reject a warranty claim if the equipment has 3rd party parts installed, or in some cases, even if the equipment has been worked on by a 3rd party.
Please do your own research on this matter.
