I finally got round to building my Diamond Discone D 1300 and due to the overhanging roof found that standard barge board pole sold by the likes of JayCar was not
fit for purpose.
I did some Googling and found an Australian company Match Master make what they call a gutter kit. There are 3 available post heights (1.2 m, 1.65 m and 1.8 m). I went for the 1.8 m, and ordered it from Middy's for $58. The part no is 11MM-CM03, and took about 4 days to come in.
I've taken a photo of the kit and the final install of Discone.
SWR readings on 2 m and 70 cm were almost perfect, so at last I have an external antenna.
I realise that not everyone is a fan of Discone antenna's but talking to Ross at Strictly Ham, he said it was the only antenna he uses at home.
That’s an interesting bracket, not seen one of those before. I might have a use for one to.
You obviously have the magic in dealing with some agency’s. I’ll explain when we next meet!

Lost picture of gutter mount so here goes another try. I have yet to trim off cable ties, so no judgement please.
